  1. Good morning, We have a small patch to push today to fix a bug causing a very large text file to be created. The file is located at %LOCALAPPDATA%/Rednim Games/ROSE Online/data/zz_log.txt We recommend deleting this file as the last patch can cause it to get very very large!   2. We actually removed a TON of trade restrictions before starting early access. Most blue items were actually trade restricted back in NA but we removed those restrictions. We decided to leave honor/valor gear as they were since we wanted to see how things would play out once the game was live and people were playing that content. If you have an opinion on this please share it!

  5. Clan storage is a good idea, it would not be too difficult to add I think. Of course we will get more tickets for people who bring a bad clan member in who steals all the stuff. I think it would be more work to add the “access control” stuff. Like maybe only veterans can take items from storage? The borrowing idea is interesting but would be quite complex to implement!
  6. Interesting thread all, regardless it does sound like mana shield is a contentious skill. Evaluating the cooldown seems like a sensible place for the team to investigate as a possibility. In general, for PvP balancing issues the more hard data you can share with us the better. Things like screen recordings are helpful to us because we can’t see all PvP content with out own eyes! I’d be curious to hear people’s thoughts on cooldown adjustments that wouldn’t nerf this skill into oblivion. Btw in our testing we found a good raider melts a mage. @percent1 @Garnet interesting thread for you.
  7. Hello all, We upgraded the network connection settings for better bandwidth performance and to keep the connection alive as long as possible. Additionally, we also made a big upgrade to the engine dramatically improving the performance of particles! Particles are all the effects you see in game, such as from salamander flames...(or 500 of them...) There should be a noticeable performance improvement when there are a lot of effects on the screen. A big thanks to the old Titan ROSE devs who provided us with this optimization!   8. Happy Friday all! We will be pushing out a minor update today to try to tackle some of the network issues players have been reporting.   9. In pre-evo clan fields were only open during certain times and gave good exp from riddler jellybeans and the kings were good for drops and exp. I kind of liked that it was only open during certain times. Limited to only level 89 does feel restrictive, would you really create a new character just for this clan field?
  10. Clan quests are nice idea, not sure how it would work. Maybe instead of players getting the quest the quest is given to the actual clan and everyone can contribute?

  12. Hello all, Last update we released our stability patch which has been a great success and our service has achieved the highest up time to date! Since then we have been actively working to continue ironing out the priority issues that we consider "critical". After the last update, we anticipated we would continue focusing on "stability" for the rest of February and are on track! In this update we've fixed a few more game server crashes and a few more technical issues related to the item code as well as some other bugs reported to us by players. We fixed a major issue where players were losing their gems or substats from items randomly. We also fixed an annoying bug with the pickup skill that wasn't allowing players to pickup an item that they could, the same fix should also resolve the issue with drop indicators being inaccurate. We are still tracking the disconnect issue that is impacting some players. We have added more logging to our systems to help us identify the issue and are tracking it as high priority. This is our last "stability" item that we have identified and we hope to resolve it ASAP! We had some more things we wanted to include in this update but didn't want to postpone this any longer due to the gem/substat fix being available. We opted to deploy this patch now to prevent players from losing anymore gems while we continue working in other areas.   20. Valentine's Day Event The Valentine's event is scheduled to start automatically in the next few days, make sure to try it out! In the past this event had some pay-to-win elements which we have removed in this update. Additionally we will roll out some Valentine's themed Item Mall items shortly after this update. The Valentine's event runs from February 10th - February 25th Mega stability patch As many of our active players are aware, we have been suffering from some stability issues with our service the past few weeks. We have been quick to apply hot fixes and patches to keep systems running but some players have been impacted by the temporary side effects (clan functionality not working, losing items, unable to login on first try, etc.). In this patch we are deploying a massive change to our server back end that should address many of the issues you have been experiencing. This is a very big change that touches on several parts of the code. We have tested it on our end thoroughly and are confident in the changes but please be vigilant and report any new issues that may arise. This is a very exciting patch for the team, it marks a milestone for us where we can start transitioning focus from 100% on stability to more game content focused patches in the coming weeks.   22. Hello ROSE fans! We are excited to share with you our latest update for ROSE Online. Unfortunately the update was delayed for a few internal reasons but we are continuously working to bring these update There are a mix of features and bug fixes in this update. Group Crash Bug We have identified and fixed the group crash bug causing the client to crash for certain groups. This was largely impacting the game arena experience as once a player has disconnected from a game arena they are unfortunately unable to re-join. Allowing people to re-join an in-progress game arena is something the team is looking to address in the future. Skill casting bug We have also reverted some of our changes to the skill code that was meant to combat the "skill stacking" exploit. This should resolve the "skill is casting bug" which caused players to get stuck casting their skills, Party Changes We have made a few changes to parties to address some issues with the abuse of the party mechanism and questing. We added a new level gap limit that limits the maximum level difference between the highest and lowest party member to 19 levels. For example: A level 1 player and a level 18 player will be able to party but a level 200 player will not be able to party with a level 220 player. First hit We have made some adjustments to the "hitting" rules for determining ownership of a drop. Currently only first hit is used to claim ownership of a drop, i.e. only the person who hit it first can get the drop. Unfortunately this is quite imbalanced as someone can simply first hit all the mobs and sit and wait for someone else to kill it before picking up the item. We have changed this process so both the first hitter and the player that does the most damage ("overdamage") has a chance of claiming the drop. Game Arena Limits We have temporarily reduced the limits for game arena's to promote more PVP play until more of the player base has reached max level. The new limits are: Akram Arena: 5v5 Crystal Defender: 5v5 Additionally, we have enabled per-IP limit for game arenas. We are aware this might be penalizing for players who share a location or who use the same VPN as others but we are applying this limit as a temporary measure to curtail some abuse of game arenas that we have observed. In the future we plan to implement a more sophisticated system. Please provide us with your feedback on this, if we find it impacts too many players negatively then we will disable this restriction. Shop Changes We have added some new options around shops, it is now possible to enable an option to hide all shop names in game. Additionally, there is a new option that can be enabled that will fade a shop once it has been visited in game. Drop Item Status We added a new option to make it easier to pickup your own drops. If you enable the "Show item pickup status" then an indicator will appear after the drop name showing whether you can pick it up or not. NOTE: This feature is not currently working in all circumstances, we recommend disabling it for the time being until the next update. Wipe Rumors and the economy We have been alerted that there is a rumor circulating in the community (based on doctored screenshots of staff member messages) that we are planning to fully wipe the server. This emphatically not true, we have no intention of ever performing a full wipe of the server as we don't believe in erasing player progress. However, we are acutely aware of the current issues within the economy regarding the proliferation of materials and the devaluation of many items including uniques, epics and more. While we may set our sights on the economy and directly intervene in the future, we will not do so until we have resolve the systemic issues that caused the problems in the first place (drop tables, quest rewards, bugs, content abuse, etc.). We also would not implement drastic changes without communication and coordination with the community. Stats update on existing bugs While this patch addresses some critical game bugs (group crash and skill casting bug) there are still a few major bugs we have not resolved yet. We are focusing our entire efforts on these major bugs going forward: Player disconnect issues Inventory bugs ("item loss") and character rollbacks Fossil sanctuary Clan functionality/friends list We will be providing a more technical deep dive of these issues for our Ko-Fi supporters in the future but the root cause of these issues are due to fundamental (perhaps even "catastrophic") technical issues in the code base that have accrued over the years. While over the past year we have remedied many issues with these legacy systems these issues went under our radar as they require a critical mass of players to trigger them. There is good news though! Thanks to some assistance from an outside expert we have narrowed down the root cause for these bugs and have a plan in place to address each of them. However, as they are deeply technical we ask for some patience as the team implements these fixes during the coming patches.
