  1. JROSE certainly has some beautiful costumes, no denying that

I must have thousands of ROSE ss but these are two of my favorites.  The first one is from RuffROSE and the second one is from NA.  Similar theme in both lol.  PS My bourg's armor died right after i took that first ss and then she died after that.  My raider was fine in the second one 😄

  2. Thanks for the explanation! It's really difficult to imagine when we don't actually know what changes will be made to the game and how they will affect game-play (or how game-play feels) but I get where you're coming from.  It's also probably going to be awhile before there are maxed level characters here too so this is more for the future imo.

The situation is different since it's a new server. When we came to NA, there were countless maxed lvl people and I would say many just used that little exp buff to help themselves.  We did usually find someone in Junon that would both buff with a cleric and give us that exp buff but it was not exactly an interaction between us newbies and the veterans. I just thought it might be something to consider since that skill exists in the game already.

My plan is the same as it's always been on every server- I help whenever I can because I love this game and I want everyone who plays to love it just as much as I do. It doesn't matter to me personally if I'm rewarded or even acknowledged.  It's just what I am most comfortable doing and will continue doing.

  3. Actually at NA, every piece of armor could be gemmed but gems were only visible on weapons and off hands (shields).  Sadly katar hawkers always looked lop-sided because there was only the one gem on the weapon but you held a katar in each of your hands

I think you might be talking about that sparkly trail that you left behind when moving and gems at NA did not have that to the same degree as we had at my old pserver.

  4. I would definitely miss buffing newbies. I spent a good part of most days doing that (while my other toons were standing in our clan spot in Junon lol).  I know there are going to be some major changes to the cleric job class but clerics will still be able to buff.  I really feel that buffing is the most natural way to interact with new players and from what we've been told, groups will still be in the game so that option will still be available.

Back to this idea- if I am understanding it correctly, this Hero's Presence aura would affect the hp and mp of low level players within a certain radius but I'm not sure how helpful that would be if it's not in combat situations.  We had something at NA when titan first closed called "Help a Noob".  During this mini event, max level characters were given a special skill where they could buff lower level players with basically a 10 min extra exp buff.  The percent of the bonus exp scaled by level with the highest boost for players lvl 1 - 50 and the lowest percent for lvl  201+.   The skill lasted for 24 hrs and max level toons got the skill whether or not they were logged in.  Perhaps something like that might be a possible alternative to consider.

The social credit thing is interesting. On one level I kind of dislike the concept of helping others because you will be rewarded but realistically that's how most people are generally. On the other hand, being recognized for helping (or even just being thanked) always feels good.  It might be too much work to add a skill but there could also just be something here at the forum where new players could give a commendation.  Maybe sending a dm to whoever and giving the details of their own account plus the name of the person they are commending and a ss of both together in the game.  Then after you guys check game logs to be sure this isn't someone trying to cheat the system, the social credits could be awarded. That would also introduce the newbies to the forum itself and the guides and other useful information that is or that will be here.

Please add a Decloak to Artisan's tree. Bourgeoise has a 2nd job specific Eye summon that spam casts Decloak, Artisan is the only class in the game without a way to remove hidden enemies from stealth, including PvE. It actually causes legitimate problems and annoyances that aren't necessary.

Totally agree with this suggestion or they could just make the Eye usable for both bourgs and artisans.  I never understood why it wasn't like that anyway

  6. Weren't those hidden snipers added initially to discourage botting or something like that?   Hopefully botting won't be an issue anymore and prison can go back to being a good map for farming and leveling minus those annoying guys in the walls

Let me preface this by saying, that I acknowledge this suggestion is coming from a good place. This is not a personal attack on anyone, just my opinion and the reasoning for it.

I personally really dislike this. The people we would be polling here are the die-hard fans of the game, who will play the game regardless of whether any of the suggestions will make it in or not (even though there might be some complaining going along with that). And even if we had a bigger and more heterogeneous sample size, suggestions should not be a popularity contest.

❗Every single suggestion should be decided on based on its merits (and practicality of implementation). There is a reason most of us are not game developers. It takes experience and foresight. The game needs a coherent vision and coherent design and every game system needs to make sense within that.

Now, let's just assume a suggestion gets more "I like this" than "I don't like this" votes. Regardless of the fact, that our samply size is both small and not representative of the eventual playerbase of the game, there will be some people feeling entitled to demand the implementation of these suggestions based on the polls.

I am not saying, that it would be any of you or even the majority. But certainly enough to cause drama and headaches.

I agree with this 100%.  Too many times, polls give people the impression that every suggestion will absolutely be implemented and that's just not the case. Then we are left with the perception that the devs are not listening to the community and that is also not true at all.  It's easy to make a bunch of suggestions and most are cool things or features we've seen in other games but in reality, not everything can be added to ROSE especially while it still uses such an ancient engine.

Regarding feedback to ideas posted here, I think the devs will get a much better feel for how popular or useful a suggestion is from the actual comments- both pro and con.

Hoi! I learned about this project just today. Quite the nostalgia bomb. I'm excited to play Rose again! I'm more of an iRose player, having been on Ruff and Titan, but I did play a bit of NA. Cheers.

I played at those too and at NA after titan closed.  Glad to see you here!

  9. I had a clan storage for years, both on NA and elsewhere. I used to list the items at my clan forum and my clannies would let me know what they wanted or what they were donating.  I just made an account just for that (named ClanStorage lol)

I believe it was DoD and Gorge of Silence that were previously IM, then Gorge was changed [I think] cause you could buy it from the little town they added.
I would like scrolls to stay roughly as they were. IM Teleport tickets were a nice QoL upgrade seeing as you only needed 1 inventory slot instead of 10-15, as well as had every map, not just a select few.

I hope they stay the same too

I figured I'd be in the minority.  I'm a cart person thru n thru as I love to drive around the maps and give people rides. Once mounts were introduced, it was like everyone forgot about carts and driving.

Probably because the quest to learn to drive was such a pain lol but I do also love carts with the back seats.  I think in one of the streams Lazy mentioned something about having a passenger on a mount.  That would be pretty neat but it wouldn't work on all mounts since so many of them your toon just kind of hangs on the back  I could see it on mounts like the reindeer tho.

Maybe would be nice if you could RENAME tabs in storage or search items.

When you have storage full of trash its so easy to miss what you looking for.

Also having name such as "muse items" or "gems" or whatever would be nice.

It would be great to be able to name the pages in storage (if we still have pages that is) and also a search function could be very useful.  I guess we have to wait and see what changes are made to storage.

I actually liked the migrations in storage in NA. I had most everything organized by mat type or equipments, etc.  Only thing was you had to buy expansion pages 😕  Hopefully it doesn't get changed to much or force how you store stuff.

I agree. I always had my storages pretty organized and I did like the storage system in NA.  It would be nice if we could still have pages so we can do that and ofc, more pages would be great.  Honestly I can't even imagine how an artisan storage would be weight-wise since stacks of mats weigh a ton

Storage is there on it, I remember Leo was mentioning about adding them at one time for the remaining ones.

Ah ok that makes sense since everything else was also in that little town.  Anyway I'm not sure what other NPC's need to be added then.

  15. I agree that exploring maps is one of the best parts of any game especially this one but getting around in ROSE is painfully slow.  If I remember right from the livestreams, I think they are removing mounts temporarily so we won't have that 2 week little Choropy mount to help us like we did in NA either so scrolls will be even more important.

Personally I wouldn't mind if we had a scroll for every map but I feel that even if we just have the scrolls we had in NA it will be better than not having scrolls at all since I am guessing we will not have teleportation scrolls in the IM anymore

  16. From what I remember about that town in GoS,  just about everything was already there so I'm not sure what else could be added except maybe access to your storage.  I used to go there to refine stuff so no one would see the failures lol

I'd say a small gil cost, or free full stop. It would remove the necessity of needing more than 1 character of a same class. I personally, do not want or feel people should be compelled to go through the leveling process and potential attunements or Faction Passive grind, simply because the resets are so costly or unobtainable without IRL cash payments.

I also am not fond in general of anything that promotes trading of end-game gear, as it's a gateway for scams, and for dodging the punitive measures of bans or suspensions. It also undermines the effort it takes to get them, when 1 group of "friends" or "family" can share a gear set for each class, reducing the participation in end-game content to achieve those, while additionally immediately lowering the, respect for geared players is the only way I can phrase it atm.

In short, I just don't like it. I don't like the idea that I could spend weeks getting a gear set, and have someone dismiss all the effort and time it took by saying "you probly bought it cause you suck". And people do that, we know it.

You mean zulie ofc 😛  but yeah I agree completely.  Costumes being shared or sold is fine but you should have to earn end game gear on every character, not have one set and pass it around forever.

  18. We had character bound and locked items in NA.  In fact there is a whole topic devoted to this issue HERE

Most players did not like the system but honestly it was created just for the reason you stated - so the game content would continue to be used instead of someone earning a set of armor or a weapon and then just passing it around to their other accounts or to their friends forever.  We had unbinders that you could earn and some in the Item Mall.  Locked items could not be moved but bound items could be unbound.  There are a lot of detailed posts in that topic that you might find interesting.

THIS topic explains some of the various terms that people who have not played at NA might not understand. Its also worth reading

  19. The pserver I played on when I first found the game many years ago had a clan house that you could buy for your clan.  It might have been something you got for a month and had to renew but it's been ages  and the details are kind of fuzzy now.

You entered your clan house via an option when you talked to Burtland.  It was indeed the Ballroom map and you had to talk to an NPC to leave or use a Junon scroll but that NPC also sold crafting materials so often artisans would go there to mass craft because there was less lag. Possibly there might have also been access to your own storage.

Anyway it was a nice feature but if we will still be having the Ballroom Event, a different map would have to be used for a clan house.

  20. I always make an artisan and I love gathering items and crafting stuff.   But mass crafting can be pretty tedious and this is an idea to make that a little easier.  We had this on the pserver that I played and it was really convenient.  Add a way to set a specific quantity to the crafting window. Then after you drag the materials over, you can click on "begin crafting" and it will just keep going until that number of items has been made.

The first image is what the current crafting window looks like.  The second image shows in red where that quantity box could be added.  Of course you would still need to have enough materials in your inventory and enough space to hold the crafted items but it would be a lot easier especially when crafting a ton of the same item (like potions or ammo)

I know, I don’t like pvp so dungeons were the only real ‘end game’ for me.

I usually just started new characters and did quests to see if they gave anything fun as rewards

Same here.  Despite what some people think, not everyone likes pvp so dungeons and the daily quests were nice pve options

  22. It would be nice to have them on top but at least we can find them without scrolling by using the categories pull down list.   :WorryMoldie:

PS And now that I am apparently a pumpkin here on the forum, we should have a pumpkin emoji... maybe that cowboy pumpkin with the hat.

Yes, groups are still in the game as they where before. Nothing changed on that part. In our second stream we tried to do a dungeon (where we failed terribly haha) and you can see lazy created a group.

Oh I do vaguely recall that now that you mention it.  Most of my memory of that stream is how the cleric had awful buffs because they didn't know charm rather than int was needed... and also Lazy not wearing actual armor and dying all the time lol

Thanks for the information.  Glad to know that groups will still be in the game and I hope the disconnection bug gets found and fixed.
