What drop gem should i socket to get essences/chems more likely D:?

help, i need to know what materials are common or uncommon.

Common is just for junk and low quality mats. You want uncommon, rare, etc. for the various chemicals.

I find Uncommon, Epic, and Dolomite are my favorite three to run with while chem farming. 

I find that Rare adds too much... other stuff.  

But test out using rare as well, and not using rare, see which you like more yourself.
