Hi Gang! this is not a post to bash or stress anyone out.

I also wonder what the devs think about this, post!

Edit "I know some posts have been made before, but I feel like I bring some new points to the table."

Edit 2: added some pros and cons. in the spoiler areas bellow.

Edit 3: in red will be official answers I found on the FAQ and their site.

I love Rose and I truly appreciate the hard work the team at Rednim Games has been and is putting into bringing back our game that we love so much. This is why I feel the need to just say something. I know from experience that fixing bugs and adding new things to a game is a struggle and not an easy task. Fixing something can lead to more problems and adding things can create new issues. So obviously making what already exists perfect would be the best call but I am looking towards the future and hopefully all my concerns have been already thought of by the team. These are just ideas that need to be fleshed out more if they are to be implemented.

The issues and ideas to fix or help.

  • Server stability
    • One big issue, I want to move away from, is the obvious server stability and log in problems that we all have been facing since launch (This was semi expected by the team and we all know they are working on fixing it). On official launch, they seem to have a plan for latency.
  • Modernization:
    • Quality of Life features that would help new players and old into rose online.
      • Quest journal and tracker.
        • Adding a hotkey like "J" that has a window like the inventory with every quest series and name by planet with a checkmark if completed and grayed out checkmark if not. If you want to go the extra mile, add a level requirement, location and rewards, but the rewards could always be a surprise. We currently have nothing right now to see where we at quest wise and how many are left and uncompleted. This would be nice for people who want to do all the quests. "We've already added a quest tracker, so you no longer have to keep opening the quest log to look at your progress. The minimap will also be improved, as it currently only provides very limited information. However, we do not want you to just follow an arrow, there has to be some level of exploration and player initiative." FAQ
          • Spoiler
            • Pros:
              • Readability, easier to find quests, complete quests, know what you are missing, better onboarding ( as in knowing what to do), goals and could lead to speed-runs etc.
            • Cons:
              • could be messy, could be complicated considering I don't know what info is available in game for the devs. Having the rewards could lead to people skipping to quests only doing those.
      • UI scalability
        • "Zeror" has brought some very strong points about, considering our bigger more modern monitor sizes, we should be able to scale the UI to fit better the new resolutions. "At some point, yes. The problem is that all UI elements are fixed images." FAQ. Resfresh rate and etc, might require engine modifications. Not a priority.
          • Spoiler
            • Pros:
              • Readability of on screen info, easier to find certain info, user-friendliness.
            • Cons:
              • Could lead to unexpected issues of overlapping and readability of on screen action or info. if the Ui is made in a way stuff can, overlap.
      • NPC locator and visibility
        • A window with a search for all NPC names and their location (Planet and map).
        • Quest should have a clear marker for the NPC you need to talk to on the map. Like having the "?" on the mini-map.
        • Available NPC quest should have a differently icon than the "*" , maybe a combination of a "!" and "*" or a special glow of the icon in the map so these NPC and easily identifiable. This could also be the solution for the above "?".
          • Spoiler
            • Pros:
              • Not having to use 3rd party sites to find old information, Would stop running around and asking random busy people about where a certain NPC is., Readability, easier to find quests, complete quests, better onboarding and planning.
            • Cons:
              • Potentially loosing the fun of old MMO player based interactions a relic of its time but some people like this.
      • Storage management and inventory management.
        • Example: Adding a "shift click" to send items from the inventory to the storage and automatically stacking them in the right tab maybe? or making the window bigger and not having pages. It currently is a struggle to add or remove things from the storage having to click max then ok when you come back from a big farming session. Also finding things in the storage is also a hassle because of the many type of storages and tabs. Auto sorting feature  the storage. "Do you have any plans to rework the storage? Yes! There are a couple of ideas floating around, so we cannot tell you what it would look like exactly yet." FAQ Also other info about a full 90 slots instead of 3x30.
        • Sell storage space in the item mall or with Zulie. I feel la storage is too small right now, especially for people who hoard or craft.
          • Spoiler
            • Pros:
              • Easier management of items, easier knowledge of what you have, easier crafting.
            • Cons:
              • Could lead to a messy UI, or removing some tabs could lead to cluttering.
      • Multiple accounts and logins.
        • Having a drop down menu for the different e-mails that have logged in once successfully at least once on the pc so that you do not have to write down and remove the emails continuously. Do not save the password.
          • Spoiler
            • Pros:
              • Easier login, but is mainly an issue because of more frequent disconnects, but would still be nice.
            • Cons:
              • Easier access to the accounts unintentionally, by other people on the pc, but this is already the case.
      • Better world / map awareness.
        • Making the "m" button show a bigger version of the map you are in could be an improvement on just the names and the connections between areas but still keep that map it is very nice and useful. The mini-map at the top of the screen is still very small and having a way to make it bigger could be nice either in the options or having the "+" and "-" buttons make the map bigger instead of zooming is also an option. Also having the party on the map constantly would be nice instead of a radius thing. They plan on changing the mini-map for quests a bit
          • Spoiler
            • Pros:
              • Easier path finding for the player, easier management of time, easier navigation and finding of locations and areas.
            • Cons:
              • Could be heavy on memory, could be obstruct the view.
      • Better chat controls.
        • Whispering back, like a "down arrow" to last person who talked to you or something
        • link items in chat;  Alt click on an item to send the item in the chat to hover to see it as if it was in the inventory.
          • Might require a ton of modifications to the engine but could also potentially not... The tooltip for items already exist, so it would be if the tooltip is copy-able and insertable as a text in chat messages.
      • Remapping key binds
        • Having the option of changing key binds could be fun, because some of the key binds right now are not very intuitive for people who played a lot of MMOs and it could help the onboarding of new players.
          • Spoiler
            • Pros:
              • Player comfort, player ease of use, new player onboarding.
            • Cons:
              • setup time could be long, player confusion of new commands.
      • More Item-mall
        • Game dev is expensive the is money. Release existing item-mall items and make it so they are only wearable in the cosmetic tab of the inventory, but keep the stats but add the tag to be only equipable in cosmetics but they don't count. Sell these, people would love to buy these and support the development to afford better servers and the development of the game we all enjoy.  More item-mal stuff is coming, very soon. And are only cosmetic no stats.
          • Spoiler
            • Pros:
              • More funding for the company, player personal satisfaction, player fashion and retention.
            • Cons:
              • Depending on the prices it could lead to player dissatisfaction, messy item-mal, pizza fashion in game ( esthetic mess) and lack of storage space.
      • New features for the community
        • I have seem some awesome mods on the forum, that are not too intrusive and add a lot to the game, like some slight UI changes for the equipped weapon and ammo. There is always the possibility of adding these to the main game and seeing how the community feels about them. We are still in early access, use the opportunity to try some wild stuff that could improve the game with existing stuff. I for one wouldn't mind being a Guinee pig for some cool features!   "We are considering to e.g. allow for more inventory slots with a backpack equipped" FAQ
          • Some feature ideas I never saw before this thread: Inspect player,...
            • Spoiler
              • Pros:
                • Easier production and release of new ideas, help with production, help with testing and player happiness with new features and hype.
              • Cons:
                • Errors could pop up from badly made mods or additions, bad intended mod makers putting malicious code in a mod, a mess because of already installed mods (add a cleaner option to the launcher), player confusion because of always changing features if they are not properly announced.
      • Better buying and selling
        • Option 1: A huge undertaking, but it has been done in one of the private servers. A market or exchange area or website like POE trade.  "Any plans to make vending less impractical? We currently have no new system in place yet, but we have certain ideas. Offline vending is one of them. Another option would be a separate shop that will still allow you to move your character and leave your shop 'behind' so to say. Removing the need for a second account purely for having a shop up."
          • Would be a copy paste system that is 3rd party but approved. This could remove some weight on the production of an in game system, but would add a ton of ease to the buying and selling of items. Also would de-clutter the chat a bit.
        • Option 2: Making the existing trade stands slightly better:
          • Adding a feature where it is kind of like the buy tab where items stay after you log out, but in the sell tab, item would refer to item in the inventory.
          • Keeping the prices could also be extremely nice.
          • Have a button to edit the price like alt click, instead of removing it and putting it back would be also very nice.
            • Spoiler
              • Pros:
                • Better player interactions, easier trading, could be done by players potentially, player managed, loose less time setting up a stand.
              • Cons:
                • Development time could be long, but it could be done by players potentially, could lead to a sketchy website or a bad intentioned player if it is the website.
      • Smoother leveling experience.
        • This would require multiple changes but no new additions to the game: A deeper look should be taken into where players play most of the time at what level. I think a more varied and smoother cycle through the games zones and monsters would be fun, so the players can see the world and kill a varied amount of monsters. "What measures are you taking to populate the lower level areas? Lower level zones will have some section(s) changed. Those sections will contain one or more higher level mobs, allowing higher level players to come back to level or farm there - right next to the lower level players." FAQ
          • An issue right now is that some zones are just empty and un-used because people flock to "better" zones, which is a shame. Like, clowns, doognas, krawfy and polaris bears/penguins. Which makes smoldies, moldies and  the whole of gorge of silence almost un-used. I remember a time where all of theses were killed for the xp, but now they are left to the side.
          • An idea could be to make it so monsters have a shorter farming/leveling lifespan, so during a shorter period they turn from dark red to gray giving no more xp.
          • The option of farming these forever is still yours since stuff does still drop loot after and you can always use the no xp consumables.  "There will likely be tweaks to individual drops and experience values at some point" FAQ.
            • Spoiler
              • Pros:
                • Better new player experience, being able to see the nice world you guys created, zone population increase at all levels, monsters that are underused could have a new use, influx of rarer materials and actualy feel like you are travelling in a world.
              • Cons:
                • less population at peak areas where the grind could be longer, a lot of travelling and trying to find where you should go.
      • Smoother Zulie income during leveling.
        • Just changing some repeatable quest to give a small amount of zulie, instead of just xp. So that all the zones do have a money maker. 20k per is every extremely good in my opinion considering the amount of them we do.
        • Right now there is a zone from lv 80 to 180 where you are extremely poor and can't afford anything.\
        • Also, monsters should still drop zulie like they used to, but it should not be on the floor, it could be like xp, direct to your character.
          • Spoiler
            • Pros:
              • better player buying power throughout the leveling experience and sense of power to the player and choice , less player frustration ( at the moment )
            •  Cons:
              • more zulie into the game is a risk, farming/abusing easier monsters or a sweetspot.

These ideas are purely put out there, out of love for the game. I write all this because of my passion to improve, see the game grow and attract new players from old and new to the game. Rose online is a special game, we are lucky to have a team bring it back to us, it truly is a dream come true to have it officially back.

I would love to know what the devs think about this.

❤️!Thank you for the hard work on the game! ❤️

Most problems are caused by a very outdated UI system. A new UI system can fix a lot of these things.

I made this thread before:

This is true, but some additions could be made without changing the whole thing. Costs vs value of modifications in my opinion. You did bring some very valid points.

  • Better chat controls.
Whispering back, like a "down arrow" to last person who talked to you or something

I would go even further. I would overhaul the whole chat window. The chat system is very limited and could much more flexible.

  1. First of all. Ditch the special symbols to enter the different chat channels. The $ for Trade, @ for Clan, # for Party, " for Whisper and  ~ for Group.
Use the following instead and add some new chat methods like. Typing /<channel> not followed with text switches you to that channel. Typing /<channel> (<username>) <message> send a message.
    • /s or /say tochatting (speech bubble) and your message is visible in a low range.
    • NEW: Add General Zone Chat channel. /g, /general or /1 for general chatting acros the whole zone.
    • /t, /trade or /2 for Trade channel for trading. Trade channel is only active in Zant, Junon Polis, Eucar, Xita Refuge and Heliopolis and are linked as well.
    • NEW: Add Looking for Group channel. /lfg or /3 for Looking for Group chat channel.
    • /p or /party for Party channel. Obviously on visible by other party members.
    • /c or /clan for Clan channel. Only visible by clan.
    • /cm or /clanmaster for Clan Master channel. Only visible by clan master and deputy's.
    • /w or /whisper for whispering to someone.
  2. Add timestamps in the chat.
  3. Make character names right clickable for a dropdown menu for easy whisper, party invite, trade request (if in range).
  4. Make chat window properly resizable. Not only in height, but also in length. And not just 3 size stances, but drag to resize option like all modern windows have.
  5. Linking in chat to items, characters and url's (except blacklisted sites - those posts wont be posted at all, but you will be flagged instead - doesn't mean you get banned, but message will be investigated by GM.).

Oh yeah! You get it, I totally agree with all of this! But i do like the Symbols for the trade clan and etc, but more options and sense to the whole management of it would be very nice too.

I agree with everything you said. The only thing I would disagree on the post with is the item shop stuff. I think the only reasonable "P2W" purchase that "could" be in the item shop is storage/inventory extension.
***THIS IS NOT MEAN PUREPORELY MAKE INVENTORY/STORAGE SMALLER TO FORCE PLAYERS TO BUY EXTENSIONS!***

Having a reasonably priced method of expanding inventory/storage size for hoarders or just for the sake of not having to reset inventories so often is probably not that game breaking of a concept. This would also help open the market to people who would not buy cosmetic items. Giving them an avenue to help server funding with something that has actual utility.

I dislike the usage of the symbols, because it's very limited. There are not that much symbols you can use. And having each command start with a forward slash "/" is much better understandable too.

I never stated that point, that is just false. Never said anything about pay-to-win either.  My opinion is the same as yours on the storage. They even had storage expansion in the old item-mall.

Link items in chat...

Expanded version: Linking in chat to items, characters and url's (except blacklisted sites ofc).
How it works: Have cursor in chatbox and SHIFT + leftclick on the character or item you want to link. You see bracketed, like: [Bird Feather]

If another person linked it you can:

  • Item
    • Leftclick: open item details
    • middle click: copy item name
    • Rightclick: dropdown with option to add it to your buy list or preview it on your character (if it's gear).
  • Character
    • Left click: whisper the character
    • middle click: copy character name
    • Right click: dropdown with option to invite to party/clan, to whisper to that person and to add as friend.
  • URL
    • Clicking or right clicking on url copies it to the clipboard so you can paste it in your browser or use it elsewhere.

Sorry. I think I expressed myself improperly. What I meant to say it that. The only thing you spoke about was cosmetics and the benefit to the development team with the additional funding. I "disagree" in the fact that only cosmetics was mentioned when reasonably priced and just additional storage/inventory expansions be added as well. Sorry for the miscommunication I did not mean to imply that you tried to mislead, nor did i maliciously try to misrepresent you're post. ❤️
