Patch Notes - 2024-07-31 (Lost Dragon)

Hello all,

Today we're releasing a small patch with a few fixes, new mounts for the upcoming Item Mall and a new feature to reward the explorers among us! This is a smaller intermediate patch between some other content we are working on, but there were several fixes and the Lost Dragon feature we wanted to release! Enjoy!

 


Lost Dragon

For years there have been sightings of wild dragons on Luna, Eldeon and Orlo. These elusive creatures have been spotted on different occasions in different locations by residents and are rarely seen in the same place twice. Nobody is quite sure where these dragons came from, but many speculate they have a connection to the Arumic Faction and their research into powerful magic.

Some believe that if a brave explorer stumbles upon one of these beasts and defeats it in combat, that they will earn a large amount of experience and the respect of the dragon, allowing them to ride the now tamed wildling! However, only the most diligent and luckiest of explorers will have the opportunity to encounter these dragons.

 


Target death skill lock fix

For some time now there was an annoying issue in combat where characters would get stuck for a brief moment after using a skill as the final blow on another player or monster. When in high-stakes combat or rapidly toggling targets, this issue was very noticeable. In this patch we've made a core change to the underlying skill system to prevent this issue. Players will now be able to instantly change targets after using a skill to kill their target!

 

 

Note: There is a still a chance in a very few cases where things can still go wrong. For example, doing skill with overkill at max range with a bourg could lead to an empty auto-attack (this is more of an old issue resurfacing now that this bug is gone). Unexpected behavior can also occur when executing a skill at the exact moment a hawker is going into cloak (the code doesn't offer a perfect way to deal with this issue yet). We are aware of those bugs and why they happen and are actively working on fixing these core skill casting bugs for a smoother gameplay experience. They will be fixed very soon!

 


New Item Mall Mounts

In this patch we're bringing back some long requested mounts to the Item Mall (permanently) with a fresh look. Make sure to check out the new Tigris and Candle Ghost mounts when they land. Keep an eye out for the Item Mall Patch Notes in the next few days!

 


Changes

  • Gameplay
    • Fixed a bug where players can experience a delay when switching targets after casting a skill as the killing blow to a monster or player
    • Added Lost Dragons to Luna, Eldeon and Orlo
  • Maps
    • Orlo Clan Field
      • Minor adjustments to Black Scarab AI, they will now despawn after some time
      • Fixed a bug preventing rift mob waves from spawning
  • Items
    • Broken Orlean Mail: New icon that shows the item as broken (to differentiate between Golden Orlean Mail)
    • Butterfly Wings: Fixed a visual issue with transparency
    • Cherub Wings: Updated to account bound on equip
    • Item Mall: Added new Blazing, Midnight, Smokey, Twilight and Woodlands Candle Ghost mounts
    • Item Mall: Added new blue, green, pink, purple and yellow Tigris mounts
  • Skills
    • Swapped the skill animations of Voltage Crash and Voltage Crush
    • Drastically increased the animation speed and casting speed of Voltage Crush
    • Fixed casting sound effects on Voltage Crush
  • Quests
    • Orias's Debt: Quest fixed and can now be completed. Rewards improved.
  • UI
    • Fixed text overflowing in respawn dialog
  • Misc
    • Adjusted respawn point in Junon near Valor/Honor vendors to prevent getting stuck in the pillar.
    • Fixed some skill sound effects that stopped working after the audio engine upgrade
