Austinbomb Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Welcome to another community-led event! Gear your characters, muster your teammates, and prepare for a PVP event to remember! This event will be held inside the training grounds on 25 January starting at 1 p.m. server time. We expect to complete all matches and determine the victors by 4 p.m. Register for this event by 22 January so that we can build the brackets and post times. Prizes (split evenly between team members) 1st Place - 180 mil Zulie 2nd Place - 120 mil Zulie 3rd Place - 60 mil Zulie Players can donate to increase the pot of zulies! The donations will be posted here, depicting the quantity and by whom. Tournament Rules 1. Players must register on the forums by 22 January. They can only participate on one account and character. Participants must be level 240 or above. 2. No more than 3 members per team. All must be different classes. 3. During the match, players must stay within the boundaries of the tournament area in Training Grounds. A player who violates the boundaries will be out of play for the remainder of the match. 4. Only one res is permitted per character if the team can do so. If a player accidentally gets resurrected a second time, they must exit the boundaries immediately. If the player attempts to aid their team after dying twice in any manner, i.e., buffing, healing, attacking, etc., that team is disqualified. 5. All consumables useable in training grounds are permitted for the tournament. 6. Buffs must come from team members or consumable items. 7. If you are not in a match, you must remain in the stands inside the training grounds until called forward. 8. No explicit language or arguing with the referees. This will result in disqualification from the tournament. 9. Remove buffs when not participating in a match. This will lower latency with in-game spectators. 10. Teams must be ready to participate in matches throughout the event. A team unable to participate within 2 minutes of the announced match start time will result in a forfeit. 11. . A team must have all 3 members to start the match unless the opposing team agrees to fight. Otherwise, it’s a forfeit. 12. Matches have a 5- minute limit. The last team standing or the team with the most kills wins at the end of the match. A 1v1 from each team member will resolve a draw with a 2-minute limit. 13. Have fun and make new friends! Disclaimer: Rules may be updated as we near D - day! Remember, this is a community-led event, but we will attempt to make it as polished as possible. Player feedback is much appreciated. Registration: Register for this event by clicking “reply to this topic” and posting the team’s name. Message me privately on Discord with the participants. You can add a 4th alternate player to your roster in case someone cannot play, but once the tournament begins, you cannot substitute further. Example: Team: Fluffy Unicorns Example Brackets that will be published after 22 January (No character names or classes will be visible): Volunteer Opportunities: - Streamers (We would prefer to have multiple videos of this event from different points of view) - Referees (Four is the current requirement with 1 being the lead. Once the lead makes a decision, it stands.) Questions & Answers/Lessons Learned Q. Do all 3 classes have to be different? A. Yes. None of the class's second jobs can be the same. Authorized Examples: Cleric, Champion, & Knight Cleric, Mage, & Raider Raider, Scout, & Cleric Bourg, Champ, & Cleric Q. How will the rewards be distributed? A. They will be provided to those participating characters and their respective accounts. Each participant will receive 1/3 of the total reward. Q. Can you use honor buff potions? A. Any consumables allowed in Training Grounds are permitted in the tournament. Q. Matches are best of how many? A. The currently plan is a single match for the sake of time and large number of teams. If we have the latter, we can do best of 3. Q. Why allow consumables to include honor buffs? Why not keep it to internal class buffs? A. It would simply be hard to regulate the use of consumables. Referees would have to closely watch for the consumption animation, and I'd rather avoid missed calls, unfair advantages, etc. Q. What happens when there's a stalemate or tie? A. Matches have a 5- minute limit. The team with he most kills wins upon the end of the match or there will be a 1v1 to decide a victor. There must be a victor to streamline the brackets. Q. How do you deal with interference? A. Interference or "trolling" is the biggest threat to a successful tournament. If someone intentionally tries to interfere, the community can help eliminate that player and we will restart that match. Spectators must stay within the stands. 1
halloaa Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I suggest no FS. BC with summon bonfire and dragon etc. is allowed but no integrity or any healing skill
Austinbomb Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 (edited) I welcome the suggestion but do not want to limit what classes can participate. The previous 3v3 tournament included FS clerics and people were still able to eliminate players. If the team is organized right, they can CC and FF targets to eliminate. In the event of a draw, a 1v1 will resolve it. Edited January 3 by Austinbomb
