MuffinLover520 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Hey I have a question about crafting Gems... I was turning Ruby 6 into Ruby 7, con around 1260, chance of success around 78% I failed on one, but I failed at step 1 which only consumed my essence and saved me the expensive Ruby 6. So I am wondering.. Is this 78% chance for each step? Like 78% chance to succeed essence... 78% chance to succeed hearts... 78% chance to succeed ruby 6... OR Is it 78% chance total so (22% chance of failure) 22/3=about 7% chance too fail each step? Meaning I really only have a 7% chance to lose the expensive part which is the ruby 6? Let me know if this makes sense and if a game dev could answer this with the true answer it would be very much appreciated, thanks ^^
GodOfEntity Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I believe this has been tested to show that it's an overall percentage, not per step. However, when you fail matters, because you will loose all those materials, including the materials beforehand.

The OP is very much aware that it matters when the failure happens, you don't need to repeat that back to them. In fact, that is the substance of their entire post.
GodOfEntity Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 To re-iterate what I was exclaiming. It's overall percentage, not per line percentage.
