Kruizle Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 (edited) Hi my name is Kruizzle. This is my PVP mage guide. I will attempt to make it short and sweet like my exes. I will go over stats, skills, and equipment. I will not be going over skill rotations because it changes based on which class you're fighting but I will go over the important ones. Let's start with skills. Obviously everyone has their own style/preference but this is what I run for AA/wars (If you want my 1v1 build you have to pay a premium price xd) Mana recovery. Helpful for mage mana issues with casting mana shield Bigger mana shield, mana consumption OOGA BOOGA DAMAGE! If you aren't running this then you might as well just switch classes Stun. Use off cooldown. Silence and acc debuff. (Soul shock mute bought in honor shop) Aoe stun, good for big groups or individual target Fire passive. 50% skill power at 5 stacks. 10 spectro gems or 2 skill power passives maxed. Huge dmg. Movement speed and dodge rate, very vital for surviving as a mage. Should always attempt to keep the stacks up. These help keep wind stacks up with no targets Keeps fire passive stacks up, low cooldowns, nice dot Magic resist debuff. Increases the dmg to every skill. Should keep this debuff up as often as possible. Now we'll get into equipment. Lots of options. Luminous staff gives you more damage as opposed to shattered hope but SH helps with mana issues. I prefer SH for mana reasons and I use enargite marquise 13 for the damage. T10 is good for mana shield + some acc/dmg/mana recovery. Int/AP is another option if you want a little bit of both of the benefits of int + dmg Full luminous set. No discussion. If you run glorious you're just sacrificing too much damage. You're just a CC/debuff bot at that point, no different than a debuff champ lol. For hat I run ap/acc valor gem. Chest I run topaz. Gloves I run ap/acc valor gem (enargite is a good option as well.) For feet I use mesolite for the mspd. Fallen Astarot Wings (duh), obviously int/ap int/ms. Junon mask, no debate, int/ap int/ms. For jewelry I have two traveler sets, one with int/ap and one with int/ms. Int/ap obviously will give you more dmg but if you find yourself being targeted like I often did I would run int/ms 90% of the time. OK STATS. This is easy. Max int. +200 str, +200 charm, rest in sen. GG. Int is your most important stat as it gives you dmg, accuracy (because of skill passives), bigger mana shield (because of skill passives), mana recovery and magic resist. Str is your 2nd dmg stat as it gives 0.4 base ap per 1 str, plus the defense and hp it gives help with how squishy mage is. Charm increases your dot as well as your magic resist/acc down debuffs. Sen just gives you a little crit chance boost and some ap. I hope you enjoyed this guide and let's bring more pvp mages to ROSE. Peace Edited November 10, 2024 by Kruizle 3 1

That's what I suspect too, so I didn't bother to grind that honor set, that also brings me to say how bad non-honor armor sets are, when I have to fight with no honor pieces in the beginning, it was a nightmare. I can see one day mage could get nerfed once again, as they are still powerful once the equipment are fully marinated, which is sad for any new players who would like to obtain PvP equipment but have to go through these torture. Other classes such as raiders, champs, scouts, artisans could earn theirs through 3:1 valor to honor conversion, mage on the other hand is just a deadweight for a dungeon group as dungeon is still DPS class oriented.
