To be somewhat fair, the whole "Am I the only one who can't login?!" deal is pretty common across all mmorpgs out there and most especially in their discord channels.
I've done it before in the past when I'd just hop into discord and comment without reading any other comments or, as you mentioned, announcements.
Though I'll admit that having to repeatably say, "No, the server's down." can get pretty bothersome.
When that happens it's best to step away from the computer and toast a slice of boring white bread and slather it with blackberry jam.
