  1. For the unique skills in the screenshot, most of what you see don't have a use really. What matters most is that you get Sacrifice, Adamantine Fist, Guardian's Might, and Shield Spikes.
  2. I used to max out STR, then put points to reach 250 CHA. The rest went to DEX. That said, I've since improved upon (moved on) adding dex to my stats. I now max out STR then add the rest of the points to CHA. I no longer feel the need to dole out as much damage as before as players have vastly improved gear-wise. The collective knowledge of how to run dungeons properly has also gotten better to the point that I no longer have to compensate for what I thought most teams lacked (damage). Yes, it's a great flex to be able to hold your lane as a knight during the gloopy boss fight(without MM13!) and in other situations, but I find it easier to trust people now to know what they're doing. That said, feel free to try out new things with your build. Add dex. See if it fits your play style. Stat and skill reset are free! Make sure to use it.
  3. Hello! @etyenneuhh Knight still has an aoe taunt in Impact wave. However, when I tested it out in SOD, I noticed that I can only taunt around 2 at most mobs with it. I might be wrong tho. Add to that how much skill points you need to use in order to get it, I decided to stop using it immediately and use the points for other skills instead. Sacrifice is the only aoe taunt I use rn. Taunt for single target.
  4. @Kuuma hello! My weapon rn is Endless blade with wind element, as I used to COU exclusively then go scorpio repeatables (wind does extra damage to poison mobs, including scorpios) when I don't feel like doing dgs. I switch out to Hoarfrost when fighting Executor and shaman. My AP rn, with EB +14, is 1247 unbuffed. I'll update this once I do COU again to tell you just how much damage I do per hit.Combine that with base attacks/sec of 1.62 (mostly thanks to peridot baguette 25% aspd + back arms with aspd substat), which can get to 2.32 when passive (graceful fencing) triggers, you can contribute decent single-target damage to bosses. I also have Mesolite Oval 13 in all my typhoon accessories rn as looking for my preferred substats for a g6 item is a pain. Lastly, I have a hopeite cushion 12 just so I can work with the widest range of clerics possible (it gives 15% more hp from restore effects, great if cleric has sht heal XD). I hope you do try this build as I only know one other knight (goodknight) who has a lot of mspd. We can try a 4-knight + cleric SC/COU clear for the hell of it haha
  5. Notes: this is the same guide I posted in the knight guild hall in dc. Reposting here so as not to lose it to inactivity. Also, I purposefully did not elaborate on some of what I do in this guide (mid-dg gear switching, use of other spd items, set/armor piece selection depending on dg, etc) This was done so as to encourage experimentation, and discerning for yourself what works from what doesn't. Please feel free to add input and your own anecdotes to this guide via the comments below. "If you ain't first, you're last." This build gives you decent single-target dps output, outrageous (for a knight) mspd, and versatility - all while being tanky enough to withstand big hits. I'd say this is the perfect/ideal build for rushing/skipping to bosses in both SC and COU for knights. With this build, you will consistently clear COU in less than 20 mins. With the right team, you can even clear COU in 12-15 mins, hence the 1-buff name. Equipment Must-have: typhoon set, without this set, and especially without any mspd substat, you will always be the slowest person in your team. No bueno if you want to finish dgs as fast as possible when spamming. Serviceable: reinforced 200 set, either of the exalted sets Nice to haves: aspd gems, aspd, STR, HP/mspd substats, valor set, armor pieces with dg specific element enhancement, peridot baguette gem from honor shop, hopeite cushion gem Why would this build make me more versatile? This build, especially as regards SC, makes you versatile because you no longer need to rely on a scout or raider to unlock doors for you. You can zoom through the routes and do it yourself mostly unscathed (with pots ofc). Why don't you add pts to CON? I've noticed that it didn't matter, really. I still hit enemies when out doing repeatables. I still hit enemies in dg, with or without accu buffs. Why add points to DEX? Because it scales with Advance Defense Training while adding dodge and damage. Why CHA? Because if you're in a group, it makes sense to enable your groupmates to do as much damage as they can via your buffs.
  6. INTRODUCTION Hello! I'm MikeOC. Dungeon conquistador, tanking specialist, and proponent of the #buffxbowknight movement (movement of one atm). I had a lot of doubts choosing knight for my first char's 2nd job. That all changed when I saw that knights had more xbow passives. Ideas bubbled and boiled in my mind. Maybe I can make a tank in the literal sense of the word - a char that can take hits while also being capable of doling out physical damage from afar. With that in mind, I respec'd, slapped on the most level-appropriate xbow I can find, and went out of Eucar with the intent of wiping out the entire population of Slags around the area. And... uhh. Well, it didn't happen. My damage was lackluster. Using def down felt off as I needed to get close to enemies, and this defeats the purpose of using a ranged weapon like xbow. My def was okay, but you can't really defeat mobs just by letting them hit you (yes, I know return damage exists). I tried using off-hand items instead of shield. Maybe the 10% aspd could make a difference. I toyed with different arrows. I played around with what passives/skills to use. Much to my dismay, every idea ended in disappointment. I was faced with a problem, a big one. One on which my choosing of the knight class was hinged on entirely. How can xbow knight work? -- THE PART WITH THE ACTUAL IDEAS No.1: give us exclusive summons Maybe a bat. Why? Because I wanna feel like Van Helsing as an xbow knight. Maybe it can cast a stronger debuff than what we get as soldier. And one that can be applied from further distances also unlike soldier debuffs. Also, soldiers are the only class that does not have any kind of summon at all. It's time we changed that. Give xbow knight the exclusive summon. #giveusbatknight No. 2: new off-hand passives, or new passives in general. Knights are innately tanky given that most, if not all, weapons we can and could use all require a certain level of STR. This includes xbows. I'm thinking instead of needing to put in passives to shield passives (passives that decrease apsd) maybe there should be new passives where using off-hand items (dolls lmao but no joke) scale and provide benefits like def (dodge can stay with xbow scouts idk) but not as much as when using shield. Or even better scaling with stats a la cleric that gets block from DEX. A movement speed passive perhaps? No. 3: specialization against magic damage Consider this an extension of No. 2. Knights, at least the standard 1h knight, can hold their own against mobs that deal physical damage. It's a different story when facing an enemy that does magic damage. Normal enemies like rupers tear us to shreds. Ghosts take our lunch money. Bosses like Mummy King in HOO made me feel like I was a hawker class char with how soft I was (no offense to hawkers). In my mind, even after I specifically made a set with gr8 max magic def, I'd still be pretty vulnerable to magic damage. To further set xbow knights apart from the standard 1h knights, I propose that xbow knights be given magic def passives. This could make us viable in an off-tank role, main tank against magic damage enemies/bosses, and a possible counter in pvp against mages and BC. Note: I intend to update this list every now and then.

    Xbow knight

Running an xbow knight in COU rn. I use a typhoon set and wings to dash through and pull mobs in between bosses. Switch to Oro and back arms whenever fighting. It's great. I'm thinking it could also work in SC, but not in SOD or Halls of Oblivion.
  8. Viewing other players' equips - have the option to look at another selected character's equipment. As a knight, I don't just want to just die from pulling too many mobs. I also want to die from envy caused by seeing other players' better equipment. Preview - Ever had items that had great stats but you had no idea looked like doggie doo doo only until after putting it on? Sure, you can always cover equips with costumes. Adapting this rpg standard will allow players to see what an item looks like on your character before you can actually equip it. Cross-job costume functionality - this is just having the ability to equip the armor sets of other jobs as costumes . I.e. a knight can look like a cleric by wearing knight armor as a costume, dealer can equip as costume hawker gear etc. It's like fashion souls, but in RO. I am completely ignorant of coding, and I have no idea if this suggestion is unreasonable from a technical standpoint. Thought that these QOL additions could be great. That is all.
  9. Great stuff from Stadia. Tho I find that this set up is optimal for when you're with a full-support cleric. If you're going solo, better reset and add 3-5 points to hp regen skill. This is what I would like to know: is making a knight is worth it in this version? Will it be good for pvp? I originally planned on making one, though the need to gain xp and zulie made me switch to using a spear with aoe skills so I can get invited to a party fast for the krawfy quest. Now, I'm in Luna and I noticed that there's no npc selling shields at all. I assume this is the case going forward, meaning that you either have to buy from vendors, have it crafted for you, or get it from drops. And seeing that 2h weapons appear to be more available, it makes me think that you have to be loaded with zulie or really lucky to have a good time playing as a knight.
  10. I got a 24-hour time out from the discord. I deserve it tho, and I will not be doing it again. I kept answering 'yeah' every time someone asked if the server was still down. Now, I have to do something productive.
  11. Name: MikeOC Preferred name to call you: Mike (surprise!) Gender/country/age: M/Philippines/28 When did you start playing Rose Online? Around 2004-05 when it was p2p until it shutdown in PH Who introduce you to Rose/ What brought you to Rose? I want to play a game where I can chill What do you like the most from Rose Online? It gives off a vibe that resonates well with me What's your favorite class to play? (and why) Soldier. Tanky. Self-sufficient. Takes hits... like a champ (heh) How did you discover Rose Online for the first time ? I discoverd it from people who I played with in an internet cafe. Share your favorite memories from Rose Online! Back in Rose Evo, there was PVP clan field event where you can hunt glowing jelly beans for massive XP. This would occur every few hours. I loved one-shotting scrubs, and Favorite monster: Grunter King/ Any boss that spawns a Junon variant Favorite places in Rose Online: That spot between and around the Junon map entrance and the tower in Anima Lake. Also, Kenji Beach Things you hate the most in Rose: The grind. Anything you want to say? I saw a dog eating grass on my way back home from the local panaderia. 'This pupper is an idiot,' I thought. "He think's he's a cow.' I looked at my still steaming-hot bag of cheese-malunggay pandesal. 'Maybe I'm a cow.' So I did the logical thing - I got down on all fours, ate, and chewed on some green alongside the stray. 'Moo,' I would say in my head in between bites of street flora. Then it hit me - unlike most of the refined gentlemen in the official rose discord, I actually got to touch some grass.
  12. If zulie is nerfed, they might as well reduce the cost of items and doing stuff in-game like the travel fees.
